Alfie

Alfie has been with us for the last few days and goes home today. He was with us for quite a while during the summer, when he was brought to us with a gut problem which required being on various medications and being handled up to four times a day. He became quite friendly during this process, but seems to have forgotten this and can be quite feisty at times, especially when being fed. He does seem to be in good health now though and we hope that this continues to be the case.

Alice & Bella

We had two new arrivals yesterday in the shape of Alice and Bella. They are two lively degus who seem to have settled in very quickly. Like most of their breed they love running on the wheel and spend most of their day running on it.

Naboo & Poppy

Here are two old friends Naboo & Poppy, who stayed with us for a year up until January this year. They are back for Xmas, and as you can see, still getting up to their old tricks.
Unfortunately, despite Naboo's interest in the dustpan and brush, he did not do any sweeping, and left it up to us to complete this task.

Xmas Visitors Continued

Pebbles

Stanford
Pebbles and Stanford are being kept separate at the moment whilst their owner is trying to bond them together. They are kept side by side, so as to get used to each other, and we swap them from cage to cage, so as they can get used to each others smells. Pebbles is getting on in age but Stanford is still quite young and full of mischief, as you can see from the photo. She is very friendly and loves her hay, which she eats in copious amounts.

Smokey
Smokey is an 18 year old Cockatiel who is with us for a second time. He is quite quiet most of the time and only squawks on the odd occasion, mainly to say hello. He loves his food sticks and his seeds and seems to be very healthy for such an old gentleman. Everybody who has come to visit has loved to see him and he seems to like getting the attention.

Cuddley
As we mentioned yesterday, Cuddley does like her veg and pellets, and here she is tucking into last nights tea of broccoli, cabbage, parsley, carrot and cucumber.

Daisy
Here is little Daisy also tucking into her tea last evening.

Henry John and Emmie
HJ & Emmie at tea time

Jake

Mac
Jake and Mac are together out in the shed, although they usually live outside. They are both quite young and Mac has a slight head tilt, but seems fine in himself. They love their veg, and especially peppers, which don't last long.

Xmas Visitors

Here are a selection of visitors who are staying with us over the Festive Period. Some are only here for a few days, and others for a couple of weeks. Suffice to say they are all in fine fettle and doing well.

Henry John & Emmie

Henry John & Emmie
Henry John and Emmie are quite a new partnership, but are very together already and are never far from each others side.
Dunky
Dunky is an old friend who we did not expect to see again, as her owners had moved form the area, but they could not find indoor accommodation near their new home, so we are glad to see her back here at Blackberry Boarding.
Poppy & Oscar
Poppy and Oscar are also old friends and are with us whilst their owner is running 12 half marathons over the 12 Days Of Christmas for charity and can be sponsored by following this link http://t.co/LszEzW2A
Suzie

Smudge
Suzie and Smudge have the same owners as HJ & Emmie, but they live indoors, although we put them out on the patio for a run today as it is so mild.
Oscar

Daisy
Daisy is a single rabbit with a very nice temperament and is very friendly. She loves to take an interest when we are doing the cleaning and getting involved.
Cuddley

Cuddley
Cuddley is a large New Zealand White rabbit. She has taken a day to settle in but likes having her head scritched and is very fond of her food. I'm sure she will be fine after a few days in bunny camp.
Gunther
Finally we have Gunther the Guinea Pig. He has a fantastic personality and is always chatting away and squeaking. He loves attention, and also jumping around in his cage and on top of his plastic igloo. A real character!!

We will continue to post more photos over the next few days of all our furry and feathery friends as they come and go.
